What is Youth Centre?

 

Youth hold the key to the demographic, social and economic, political and cultural progress of Ukraine.  Due to the limited availability of opportunities - rather than contributing to the well-being of their nation - youth are often turning to other, less constructive, alternatives. To ensure participation and self-governance that are part of human security for youth it is needed to establish institutional capacity and enable environment for participation of youth in their own and societal governance.

The idea of YC  is to provide necessary ground for the youth ideas and projects realization.

 

Youth centre includes both mobilization of the youth and arranging place where the youth can have access to resources needed for development (including place for meeting and place to spend leisure time).

 

YC plays an important role in forming CO’s vision of the future. Thus, YC has been one of key priority for all CO’s development plans.

 

Each YC’s activity depends on local people interests. Thus, the YC activities perfectly suits local conditions supporting development of the weakest sectors and fully using locally available opportunities, local people’s skills and potential.

The structure of the YC also depends on local needs but from CRDP experience it should include different working groups. Each working group will cover particular activities and will permanently work to satisfy youth  needs in, for example, sport, computer literacy or cultural events.
