April 12, 2011 Information and Computer Technology (ICT) centre with the access to Internet has been opened in v.Druzhnya. Druzhnia belongs to the fourth zone of radioactive contamination. ICT centre is the eighth one established in the framework of the UN project International Chernobyl Research and Information Network (ICRIN), which aims to provide sound information on safe living and healthy lifestyle.

13-14 грудня 2010 року в Кам'янці-Подільському відбулася пісумкова зустріч за результатами діяльності Чорнобильської програми відродження та розвитку ПРООН 2002-2010 роки. У зустрічі прийняли участь 18 осіб: представник Міністерства надзвичайних ситуацій, директори пяти Центрів соціально-психологічної реабілітації та з питань інформування про наслідки Чорнобильської катастрофи, семи Агенцій економічного розвитку, працівники проекту «Міжнародна науково-інформаційна мережа з питань Чорнобиля». 

November 25, 2010, the sixth Chornobyl Economic Development Forum (ChEDF) was jointly organized by Korosten City Council and the UNDP Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme in Korosten. How to attract investments in Polissia area was the main question of the Forum. More precisely the topic of establishment of industrial parks and positive branding of areas were discussed.
The Chornobyl Economic Development Forum is part of systemic measures applied by UNDP for socio-economic recovery of Polissia areas. The place for the Forum - Korosten was selected as it is one of the largest and most developed cities in the area.

Учасники семінару - представники громадських організацій, які перемогли в першому етапі конкурсу "Розвинені території, здорові люди” організованого проектом ООН "Міжнародна науково-інформаційна мережа з питань Чорнобиля".

September 3, 2010, from 10 am to 1 pm at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy 8 students, participants of the Oxford Volunteers for Chornobyl Scheme have presented their experience of three-week stay in Polissia area and will share it with Olivier Adam the UN Resident Coordinator / UNDP Resident Representative for Ukraine.

30 July 2010, Kyiv – The UN “International Chernobyl Research and Information Network"(ICRIN) announced a competition for media journalists for the best publication on socio-economic development of Chornobyl-affected areas.

The goal of the competition is to advance information availability on socio-economic development of Chornobyl-affected areas and to improve awareness about safety living at the radioactively-contaminated territory.  

30 липня 2010 року – Оголошено результати першого етапу конкурсу «Розвинені території, здорові люди». На Конкурс було подано 60 заявок організацій громад з 21-го району 5-ти областей, які найбільше постраждали внаслідок Чорнобильської катастрофи.

За результатами оцінок експертів переможцями І-го етапу конкурсу стали  14 проектів, які будуть запрошені до участі у тренінгу з написання грантових пропозицій та подадуть на другий етап конкурсу повні заявки. Проекти-переможці першого етапу подані нижче, в алфавітному порядку відповідно до назви населеного пункту.

New call for application to participate in Oxford Volunteers for Chornobyl Scheme announced! This year five volunteers from the University of Oxford or any other University abroad and five volunteers from National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” or other Ukrainian Universities will spend three weeks in August-September 2010 working on specific developmental projects in Ukraine in line with the targets of the UNDP Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme.

8-12 June 2010 the training seminar on local development for rural areas involved 16 representatives of local self-governing, district administrations and agencies of regional development from Chornobyl-affected settlements in Volyn, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Rivne and Chernigiv regions. The goal of the seminar was to support socio-economic development of Chornobyl-affected areas.

Sustainable development of the Chornobyl-affected areas is impossible without the change of their perception. The best way to change the stigma of Chornobyl is to invite people to see it!

Today 10 students-volunteers from the University of Oxford and from the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla academy” who have took the challenge and spent four weeks working on specific developmental projects in Ukraine in line with the UNDP targets have shared their experience with Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecka, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Ukraine. These 10 students are participants of the Oxford Volunteers for Chornobyl Scheme that was initiated by the UNDP Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme (CRDP), Oxford University Ukrainian Society and the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA) in 2007.

Korosten, 4 September 2009 – 23 representatives of local governance from Sweden and Spain visited Korosten to learn its experience in remediation of consequences of Chornobyl accident. The visit was organized in the framework of cooperation of European Group of Local Authorities with Nuclear Facilities in Europe (GMF), European Centre of Technological Safety and UNDP Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme. During the visit, representatives of GMF officially invited Ukraine – Ukrainian municipalities - to become a full member of European association.
