The Oxford volunteers help Chornobyl-affected communities in Ukraine

10 volunteers from Canada, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, the United Kingdom and  the United States, will stay at youth centres of 5 villages (Ovruch Raiyon: Kyrdany, Lystvyn and Ripky raiyon: Zamglay, Pershotravneve and Lubech). Their work will be organized in 3 main directions: health management system, youth ICT and tourism development as well as partnership between communities, village and raiyon  authorities, and business.   

 

The volunteers will act in the operating areas of the UNDP Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme. They will work in fourth (zone of strict radiation control) zone of radioactive contamination as well as clean territories where resettled people from the first zone (Chornobyl Exclusion Zone) live.
